Kiama Health Plan
The Kiama Health Plan aims to improve the health and well-being of our community, and to protect and enhance our environment.
It identifies priority issues and ways to address them.
The plan has 5 sections titled:
- Socially connected, cohesive and diverse.
- Healthy and active.
- Food secure and food sustainable.
- Encourage and enhance a healthy and sustainable economy.
- Healthy, protected and sustainable environment.
Our Council was one of the first NSW councils to develop a Health Plan in 1998-99, and since then have written several updated plans.
We remain an innovative leader in this policy area.
As a result of our initiatives, in 2008 the World Health Organisation (WHO) recognised Kiama as a Healthy City.
