Hire the Old Fire Station

Standard bookings are for one week.

The booking week begins at 12noon Thursday and ends 5pm Wednesday afternoon.

Two-week bookings may be considered depending on availability and content.

Bookings can also be made for Thursday mornings (8-11am) and Wednesday evenings (5-10pm).

You may submit a booking application at any time.

Bookings are scheduled 6 months in advance.

Closing dates for the 6 month exhibition periods are:

• 31 October (for January to June exhibitions)
• 30 April (for July to December exhibitions).

The application booking form will ask you for your 3 preferred booking dates.

If you wish to book during the more popular months (e.g. January, March, April, September, October and November), we suggest you select dates accross a number of different months, rather than all in one single month.

So that artists get equal access, you are limited to one exhibition every 6 months.

If requests for the same booking week arise, these are assessed with priorty given to Kiama based artists and groups then assessment against the following criteria:

• New emerging artists
• New exhibitors
• Innovative, explorative arts
• Collaborative multi arts genre exhibitions

Yes.

No commercial operations or non-original mass produced items are permitted. Except where the artist has comissioned prints of their own work and their original work is also on exhibition.

The weekly hire fee of the Old Fire Station (Thursday to Wednesday) is listed in Kiama Council's fees and charges. 

If your application is successful, all fees (including hire and bond) must be paid at least 6 weeks before your exhibition.

The Old Fire Station is a space only venue hire.

All exhibitors are required to provide their own personnel to oversee their exhibition. 

Provided onsite is:

• 50 hanging wires
• 150 hooks
• desk and 2 chairs
• 20 folding stackable chairs
• wooden plinths
• kitchenette
• fridge
• ceiling fans (air conditioning and heating not provided)
• wifi access.
