Snakes

Snakes graphic

Snakes are not naturally aggressive and always prefer to retreat.

They will only attack humans if hurt or provoked and most bites occur when people try to kill or capture snakes.

If you come across a snake in a park or reserve, just calmly walk the other way.

If you find a snake in your home or garden do not try to handle or kill the snake.

Keep children and pets well away.

If you want it removed, contact one of our local reptile handlers:

Cory Kerewaro - 0455 570 000

Glen Peacock - 0418 162 441

Raymond McGibbon - 0400 734 225

A reminder that it is illegal to kill native birds, reptiles, amphibians and mammals.

This includes snakes.
