West Kiama (Springside Hill)
PROPOSED Project
A Planning Proposal(PDF, 3MB) for a 114 hectare site located at 177 Long Brush Road, Jerrara, 33 Greyleigh Drive and 103 Jamberoo Road, Kiama was lodged with Council.
This proposal seeks to rezone land to support new residential, mixed use development, a diversity of housing types, local centre and to enable a school and place of worship.
Council made information about this proposed development publicly available as, given its scale and scope, it is important for our community to be fully informed.
The next stage was for Council staff to provide a report for our Councillors, including a recommendation of whether the proposal should proceed for further assessment.
The council staff report was provided to the council meeting on 16 April 2024. At this meeting council resolved to not support the planning proposal at this time.
Rezoning Review
In May 2024 the proponent lodged a review of Council’s decision, and the Southern Regional Planning Panel convened on 12 September 2024 to consider the review request. On 23 September 2024 the SRPP handed down their decision to support the Planning Proposal proceeding to Gateway, subject to a number of changes being made. The SRPP has also appointed itself as the Planning Proposal Authority. See also 23 September 2024 Media Release.
