Our large community centre overlooks Hindmarsh Park in the centre of Kiama.

The Joyce Wheatley Community Centre contains a large hall or auditorium area with excellent natural light and three smaller rooms.

This Centre is named in honour of Joyce Wheatley, a dedicated community leader who served on Kiama Municipal Council from 1980 to 2008, including being
Deputy Mayor from 1986 to 1987 and Mayor from 1992 to 2000. Ms Wheatley died in 2012 aged 74.

The centre is available to community groups, not-for-profit organisations, artists, private and corporate groups.

Auditorium

The Auditorium is a light-filled space in the centre of the building.

It faces out onto Hindmarsh Park and offers a leafy aspect.

The space can host up to 60 people and includes:

  • Kitchen facilities
  • Air conditioning
  • Chairs
  • Tables
