We are replacing the play equipment at the Old School Park playground in Gerringong.

The replacement is part of our asset renewal program, which ensures playgrounds continue to meet Australian Standards and allows our community to enjoy their recreation facilities in safety.

Community consultation about the new equipment was conducted in 2020.

However, the project was subsequently halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The new equipment features:

• Adventure/climbing station including commando tube, ‘O’ challenge ladder, counter panel, slide and stairs.
• Climbing structure including rock climbing / bouldering panel, tyre climber and zig-zag ladder.
• Two-bay swing set including parent/toddler ‘tango’ swing, rope basket swing and classic strap swing.

While the playground itself is being replaced, the shade sail, footpaths and shelters will remain.

Work is expected to commence early May and take approximately four weeks to complete, weather permitting.
