Kiama Harbour Revitalisation Plan
The Kiama Harbour Revitalisation involves a review and refresh of the 2014 Kiama Harbour and Blowhole Point Headland Master Plan.
This will guide future investment in Kiama Harbour.
The project is being managed by the Transport for NSW Maritime Infrastructure Delivery Office in partnership with Kiama Council.
Transport for NSW has now finalised the Kiama Harbour Revitalisation Action Plan 2021.
The Action Plan retains the overall vision of the draft Strategic Framework but removes a number of medium and longer term revitalisation opportunities following concerns from stakeholders and community members during the consultation period.
Transport for NSW will now establish a governance group with Kiama Council and other harbour stakeholders, to be chaired by NSW Maritime.
Kiama seawall repairs
The NSW Government has replaced the damaged seawall and retaining walls adjacent to the boat ramp at Kiama Harbour as part of the Kiama Harbour Revitalisation .
The Department of Planning and Environment - Crown Lands appointed Land and Marine Ocean Engineering Pty Ltd to do the work.
The work includes new seawall retaining walls, new street furniture and a seating area, a new accessible ramp, stainless steel handrails and balustrades, and landscaping.
Construction of the new seawall was completed in April 2023.
Kiama Harbour jetty upgrade
In September 2023 Kiama Council gathered community feedback on three proposed designs for a new jetty. We are working through the preferred options and researching grant funding to undertake the works required. Council will update the community on any progress.
