This project is now complete.
Bank erosion along Blue Angle Creek at the project location was being exacerbated by informal bank access for recreational activities, uncontrolled storm-water discharge and a lack of riparian vegetation.
The active bank erosion was affecting estuary health through increased downstream sedimentation, which in turn is contributing to a localised decline in water quality.

The erosion was also threatening accommodation infrastructure at Seven Mile Beach Holiday Park, as well as recreational use of the estuary.
Two locations along the bank of the creek received bank stabilisation and erosion control measures. The canoe launch area has been formalised and associated stormwater infrastructure repaired. Natural reed and mangrove growth is being encouraged, supplemented by plantings.
Financial and technical support for this project has been provided by the NSW Government through its Coastal and Estuary Management Program.
