Statement on USU concerns

Concerns regarding a Council report noting USU opposition to the sale of Blue Haven Bonaira are incongruous given it being a matter of public record.

The campaign led by the USU, and a number of politicians, opposing the sale and targeting Kiama Council, received widespread coverage in the media.

Council’s report simply states these facts.

The same factual statements were unanimously endorsed by councillors on 21 May, as part of a formal submission to the House of Representatives Standing Committee: Inquiry into Financial Sustainability of Local Government.
