State of the Beaches 2024
Published on 29 October 2024
Good news as we head towards warmer weather with (another) clean bill of health for our swimming beaches.
The NSW State of the Beaches Report for 2023 -2024 shows all five of our local beaches monitored for the report as Very Good or Good.
Jones Beach, Bombo Beach and Werri Beach came out on top with excellent water quality and being suitable for swimming almost all of the time.
Surf Beach and Seven Mile Beach were graded as Good, being suitable for swimming during dry weather.
It is recommended to avoid swimming during and for at least one day following rainfall, or if there are signs of stormwater pollution.

A safety reminder to not swim at South Bombo Beach, which is extremely dangerous.
