Minnamurra Waste and Recycling Centre fire

Fire and Rescue NSW crews have attended and dealt with a fire at Kiama Council’s Waste and Recycling Centre at Riverside Drive, Minnamurra.

The fire occurred at the waste pile from Council’s Bulky Waste Drop Off.

The Centre has been closed to the public while Fire and Rescue manages the fire.

No members of the public nor council staff have been injured.

An investigation into the cause of the fire will occur once the current situation is dealt with.

The Centre will remain closed on Thursday 19 September and until further notice.
