Jamberoo Pool opens 16 November

Jamberoo Pool set to reopen on Saturday 16 November, ready for another summer of fun and relaxation.
An important change this summer is a new entry fee to help with the cost of opening and running the pool each year.
Currently, the cost of maintaining the pool and providing a lifeguard to keep everyone safe exceeds $80,000 each year.
To help offset this and ensure we can continue to offer this facility for the Jamberoo community, we’re asking users for a modest entry fee for the first time:
- Adults $4
- Children $2 (incl. students/concession)
- Families $10 (two adults/two children)
Children under school age will continue to enjoy free access.
Importantly, visitors not swimming will not be charged.
The new entry fees were endorsed in Council's fees and charges document in June 2024.
Payments will be via tapping (payWave) your card or smartphone.
To make it easier you can also purchase a multi-pass:
- $40 for 10 adult visits
- $80 for 20 adult visits
- $20 for 10 child/student/concession visits
- $40 for 20 child/student/concession visits
Jamberoo resident Vivienne Marris said the idea of a fee had been floated nearly a decade ago, and the community largely supported it.
“Our residents and users of the pool continue to look for longer hours and earlier starting dates and are certainly not anti-fees,” Ms Marris said.
“They appreciate that ongoing maintenance has a cost, and they understand that personnel need to be suitably qualified for life-saving duties.”
“We’ve enjoyed free use of the pool for many years, and as other council pools charge for entry, it was only a matter of time before Jamberoo’s community pool caught up with costs and maintenance recovery.”
Jamberoo Pool will be open from 16 November, between 12:30pm and 6:30pm weekdays, 9:30am and 6:30pm weekends.
From 21 December the pool will open 9:30am to 6:30pm every day.
