Kiama Council is upgrading the Headland Drive playground at Gerroa thanks to funding from the Australian Government.

The new-look playground will include:

  • Tower with climbing, rope bridge and slides
  • Swings with toddler and nest swing
  • Voice tubes
  • Noughts and crosses panel
  • Rocker
  • Balance trail

The installation is scheduled to start next week.

The upgrade has been made possible following delays to the upgrade of the playground at nearby Emery Park.

The installation of new play equipment at Emery Park has been halted following the discovery of significant aboriginal artifacts.

It is intended to install a new playground at Emery Park once Council has completed the investigations of aboriginal heritage significance and gained a permit to allow construction on the site ensuring that aboriginal heritage is respected, and Council is successful with further grant applications.

Funding has been provided by the Australian Government’s Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program.
