Destination Events Funding - Round Two
Published on 14 February 2024
Kiama Council, through Destination Kiama, is providing $45,000 to a range of local events in 2024 thanks to our Destination Events Funding Program
Manager of Tourism and Events, Sally Bursell, said the Destination Events Funding Program supported festivals and events that attracted visitors from out of area and contributed to our local economy.
“Along with our prized annual events such as the Winter Wine Festival and KISS Arts Festival, we are thrilled to support new events such as DISTILLED at an exciting new venue in The Co-op in Gerringong, as well as welcoming back to our calendar The Kiama Readers Festival and Jamberoo Music Festival,” Ms Bursell said.
The events to receive funding are:
• Melvo Baptiste - $2,000.00
• Winter Wine Festival - $5,220.00
• Kiama Coastal Classic - $4,000.00
• Kiama Readers' Festival - $4,500.00
• KISS Arts Festival - $8,000.00
• DISTILLED - $5,220.00

Major Events Survey
As council reviews approval processes and determines the best methods for supporting the events calendar locally, our consultants, The Tilma Group are keen to learn from our community.
What has been your experience with the wide variety of major events we’ve recently hosted? For example, the KISS Arts Festival, Kiama Winter Festival, Clearly Music and Arts, Changing Tides Festival, Kiama NYE Sky Show and Red Hot Summer Tour?
What were the impacts on you, both positive and negative?
These results will contribute to the review of major events in our area and help Council better assess their social and economic value against any less-desirable impacts, such as noise and other disruptions.
Residents can have their say by completing Tilma Group’s online survey:
