Our Australia Day at Jamberoo was a resounding success, bringing together community members for a day of fun, reflection, and connection.

The day began with the traditional citizenship ceremony at Jamberoo Youth Hall, where Aunty Jodie Stewart provided a thoughtful Welcome to Country, before Mayor Cameron McDonald welcomed our latest Australians as citizens.

This was followed by our community barbecue and celebrations next door at Reid Park where Aunty Lila Stewart opened the event emphasising the importance of unity and inclusivity in our community.

The Doonooch Aboriginal Dancers led the entertainment followed by musicians Matty Walker, and Ron Callaghan.

The Jamberoo Red Cross and Jamberoo Rural Fire Service fed a very hungry crowd, raising funds for the Red Cross parenting program and essential equipment for the Rural Fire Service.

The family fun included the circus activities, dancing, face painting, table tennis, jenga and other games.

Our thanks all who participated and supported the event, making it a meaningful celebration for everyone.

We'd particularly like to thank our community partners and the National Australia Day Council for their funding.
