Citizen Awards
These awards were previously part of our Australia Day Awards and will now be awarded at our Local Government Awards, each year, as part of Local Government week.
Here we will recognise those people that play a part, large or small, in our community.

Nominations
Criteria for nominees
Citizen of the Year - For an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the community, either during the previous 12 months or over many years of service.
Young Citizen of the Year - For an individual aged 24 years or less who has made an outstanding contribution to the community, either during the previous 12 months or over many years of service.
Senior Citizen of the Year - For an individual aged 65 years and over who has made an outstanding contribution to the community, either during the past previous 12 months or over many years of service.
The nomination includes requests for:
- Your contact information
- Name and contact information of the person you are nominating
- Age of the nominee
- A supporting statement that outlines the reason for your nomination.
We'll also give you the opportunity to add any supporting documents and a photo of the person, if you would like to.
